How to Add a New Relationship

SteepleMate makes it simple to manage and track relationships within your church community. Whether you're adding family members, friends, or other connections, follow these steps to add a new relationship in SteepleMate’s person management section.

Step 1: Access People Management

  1. From the left-side navigation menu, click on Manage, and then select People.
  2. Enter the name of the head of the family in the search bar and click Search to locate their profile.

Step 2: Open the Relationships Section

  1. Once the person’s profile appears, scroll down slightly until you find the Relationships section.
  2. Click on the Relationships header to expand this section and see the person's current relationships.

Step 3: Adding a New Relationship

  1. Click on Choose to add a new person as a relationship.
  2. A search field will appear—input the name of the new person you want to add as a relationship.
  3. Once the name is entered, select the appropriate relationship type (e.g., spouse, child, sibling, etc.) and add any relevant notes if necessary.
  4. Click Search to locate the new person you are adding.

Step 4: Save the New Relationship

  1. Once the new person is found and selected, click Save to finalize the relationship.
  2. The new relationship will now be reflected under the Relationships section of the head of the family’s profile.

Additional Tips:

  • You can add notes about the relationship to provide more context, such as clarifying complex family structures or specific roles.
  • Ensure the names are spelled correctly and that the relationship type is accurate to maintain clear and organized records.
