How to Add a Person and their Family in SteepleMate

Let's start building your church's community by adding family units. This helps organize personal and group communications effectively.

Add the Head of Household

Step 1: From the left navigation menu, select 'Manage', then select 'People'.



Step 2: Select "Create Head of New Family"

Tip: Starting with the head of household helps to set up the primary contact for the family.




Step 3: Start with the first and last name. This ensures personal recognition in all church communications.



Step 4: Save the Head of Household
  1. Add the head of household to relevant groups by selecting appropriate group options.
  2. Click ‘Save’ to store the information.
    • Tip: Saving ensures that the primary family contact is recorded in the system.


Add Family Members


Expanding the family profile by adding members creates a comprehensive view of the household.
Click on ‘Add New Person’ to start adding other family members.

Tip: As you add family members, their profiles are automatically created in the system.



Step 6: Enter Family Member Information
  1. Fill in the required fields for each family member:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Family Role (e.g., Spouse, Child)
  2. Repeat for each additional family member and remember to save changes.

  • Review Your Entries: Always double-check the information entered to avoid errors.
  • Engage with Groups: Assigning family members to groups helps in better engagement and communication within the church community.
