How to Create Service Planning Templates in SteepleMate

Every church is unique, and with SteepleMate, your service planning can be too! Service Planning Templates help you define the structure of your church’s services, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to create a customized Service Template that you can use for planning future services.

Step 1: Access Service Planning in SteepleMate

  1. Sign into Your SteepleMate Account

    • Visit SteepleMate.com and log into your account.
    • From the dashboard, click on Administration.
  2. Navigate to Service Plans

    • In the Administration section, click on Service Plans.
    • Click New to start creating a new Service Template.

Step 2: Define Your Service Template

  1. Enter Template Details
    • Fill in the Name and Description of your template to identify its purpose (e.g., Sunday Morning Service, Youth Service).
    • Once completed, click Save.

Step 3: Set Up Service Roles

  1. Add Roles to the Service Template

    • Navigate to the Service Roles section.
    • Click New to start identifying the roles that will be responsible for various aspects of the service (e.g., worship leader, speaker, usher, tech team member).
  2. Fill in Role Details

    • For each role, specify the Name and how many people you expect to need for that role (e.g., 2 ushers, 1 worship leader).
    • Repeat the process by clicking New for each additional role you want to include in the Service Template.

Step 4: Build the Service Flow

  1. Plan the Service Flow

    • Click on the Service Flow section, then click New to start building the basic structure of the service.
    • Include elements such as:
      • Welcome
      • Opening Prayer
      • Worship Songs
      • Sermon
      • Announcements
      • Closing Prayer
  2. Estimate the Time for Each Element

    • As you add each element to the service flow, estimate how long it will take. This ensures that your service stays within the desired timeframe and runs smoothly.
  3. Save the Service Template

    • Once you’ve added all necessary elements to your Service Flow, click Save. Your template will now be ready for use in future service planning.

Step 5: Edit and Reuse Your Template

  1. Edit as Needed

    • Your Service Templates are flexible! You can come back and edit them anytime to accommodate special events, seasonal services, or changes in format.
