Managing Group Setup in SteepleMate
SteepleMate allows you to set up and manage unlimited groups with flexible visibility and communication settings. This guide will walk you through the steps of creating and customizing groups, as well as adding and managing group members.
Step 1: Creating a New Group
Sign in to SteepleMate
Log in to your SteepleMate account using your credentials.
Navigate to Manage Groups
From the left navigation menu, click on "Care Center", then select "Manage Groups".

Add a New Group
To create a new group, click the "Add New" button.

Enter Group Details
- Group Name: Type the name of your new group.
- Primary and Secondary Group Owners: Assign the primary and secondary group owners responsible for overseeing the group.
- Group Type: Specify the type of group (e.g., Bible Study, Youth Group, Care Group).

Save the Group
Once all the necessary details have been entered, click "Save" to create the group.
Step 2: Setting Group Visibility and Communication Methods
Access Visibility Settings
After creating the group, go to the "Visibility" section to customize how the group is used and who can see it.

Configure Visibility and Communication
- How You Want This Group Used: Define the purpose of the group (e.g., attendance, care tracking).
- Communication Methods: Choose how the group will communicate (via intra-office messages, emails, texts, or in-app chats).
- Who Should See This Group: Specify which individuals or groups can view this group.
Save Visibility Settings
Once your visibility and communication settings are configured, click "Save" to apply them.
Step 3: Adding People to Groups
If you're ready to add members to the group, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Members Section
Select the "Members" section of the group you’ve created.

Add a Person to the Group
- Click "Add Person" to open the search field.
- Type the name of the person you want to add to the group.
- Click the "Search" button to find the individual, then select their name to add them to the group.
Remove a Person from the Group
If you need to remove someone from the group:
- Click the red “X” next to the person’s name.
Save Your Changes
After adding or removing people, click "Save" to ensure the changes are applied and the group roster is updated.
By following these steps, you’ll be able to efficiently set up and manage groups within SteepleMate, ensuring effective communication and participation within your church.
