OfferingMate: Settings and Management Handbook
Congratulations on starting your journey with SteepleMate! If you are reading this guide, you might already be set up with us—fantastic work! If you haven't signed up for OfferingMate yet, you can do so here.
Configuring OfferingMate
From the Administration menu > select Organization Settings > navigate to the Finance, OfferingMate, Merchant Account section.
Add Finance Administrators
Finance Administrators handle contribution records and deposit information. They must be trusted staff members, as they have access to sensitive financial data.
A person must have a system login to be eligible. If they don't appear, they need to register for access first by going to the sign-in page and clicking 'I need a username and password'.
Choose Contribution and Campaign settings.
If you create pledge campaigns, you can show the campaign progress to donors. Create opportunities for tithes and offerings by allowing people to initiate giving from the church login page.
Customize Your Contribution Statement Greeting, and your Receipt Email Signature
These are the "thank you" messages your donors will receive after giving to the church.
Integrate with QuickBooks Online
If you choose to sync QuickBooks Online with SteepleMate, you can automate financial reporting for both online giving and manual deposits.
Choose Your Accounting Style
Category Based P&L Style or Fund-Based Individual Account Style
Add Payment Categories / Custom Funds / Designations / Buckets
From the Finance menu > select Payment Categories.
These are the various categories people can donate to. Include shortcuts for text-to-give and associate bank accounts.
Get Acquainted with Giving
We encourage you to try giving to get acquainted with the full giving experience. SteepleMate offers the ability to initiate giving via online, mobile app, QR code-to-give, and text-to-give.
