Creating a Special Event in SteepleMate: A Step-by-Step Guide
Welcome to the SteepleMate Knowledge Base! In this guide, we will walk you through the process of creating a special event in SteepleMate. This includes setting up an event landing page and managing registration. For those who prefer a video tutorial, we have a video at the end of this article.
Step 1: Navigate to the Special Events Page
Go to the Manage menu.
Select Special Events.
Step 2: Create a New Event
Click New on the events table.
Name your event (e.g., "Journey Through Creation Vacation Bible School 2024").
Add event dates and times (e.g., July 15th through 19th, starting at 9 a.m.).
Click Update to save changes.
Step 3: Build the Event Portal and Registration
Building the Portal (Landing Page)
Click Portal.
Set up general settings:
Unique URL: Name this (e.g., "VBS2024").
Minimum Access Level: Select None for public access or Super User to keep it private until ready.
Visibility Start and End Dates: Set the dates for when the event should be visible.
Build the page sections:
Decide which sections to display (header, home, about, footer, contact).
Select a template.
Title your page header and upload a logo/icon if desired.
Upload graphics or media for the page.
Use the Preview button to see a live view of your event page.
Setting Up Registration
Click Registration.
Select a primary group for registrants (e.g., "VBS2024 Registrants").
Set registration start and end dates.
Create the opening text for registration and a thank you message for registrants.
Click Save.
Step 4: Add Event to Website and Calendar
To complete the setup, refer to the additional help videos on how to add the event to your website and calendar.
