SteepleMate allows your church to record communication activity on a person’s profile so your team can keep track of follow-up and care efforts. This is useful for documenting guest outreach, member care, meetings, phone calls, texts, emails, and other communication touchpoints.
Tracking communications can help your church:
document follow-up with new guests
record calls, texts, meetings, and visits
keep staff and ministry leaders informed
review communication activity over time
support reporting on care and outreach efforts
For example, your church may want to track when someone was contacted by phone, invited to coffee, sent a text, or visited at home.
To add a communication entry:
In the left navigation menu, select Manage then People.
Search for the person you want to update.
Open that person’s profile.
Scroll down to the Communications section on the person’s profile.
At the top of the communications table, click New.
Enter the date the communication took place.
Select the method of communication (Letter, Meeting, Other, Phone, Social Media, System Interaction, Text Message)
In the comments area, enter details about the interaction.
Click Update to save your changes.
The communication entry will now be recorded on that person’s profile.

For clearer records, try to include:
when the communication happened
how the person was contacted
a short summary of the conversation
any next steps or follow-up plans
This helps your team understand what has already been done and what still needs attention.
Churches often use communications tracking for:
new guest follow-up
pastoral care contacts
volunteer follow-up
meeting notes
home visit records
text and phone call documentation
