The Family Communications report helps your church review communication activity for specific groups in the system. This is useful when you want to see communication history for ministries or group-based follow-up, such as children’s ministry, Bible study groups, and similar groupings.
What the Family Communications Report Shows
This report organizes communication activity by family or household so you can review follow-up in one place.
The report includes details such as: family members, most recent contact date, contact by, contact type, contact details
You can also expand any row to view additional communication details for that family.
Open the Family Communications Report
To access the report:
In the left navigation menu, select Reports.
Click Family Communications.

Update the Report Filters
Before running the report, update the filters to match the information you want to review.
- Start Date: Choose the beginning date for the report.
- Hide Families With Recent Communication: Select this option if you want to hide families that have already had recent communication activity.
- Exclude System Interactions: Select this option if you do not want system-generated interactions included in the report.
- Groups: Choose the group or groups you want to include in the report. Examples might include: children’s ministry, Bible study groups, other ministry groups set up in the system
After updating your filters, click View Report.
Review the Report Results
Once the report loads, SteepleMate will display communication activity grouped by household.
From the report, you can review:
which family members are included
when the most recent contact happened
who made the contact
the type of communication used
notes or details connected to the contact
You can expand any family row to see more detailed communication history for that household.

Export the Report
To download the report, click Export in the top-right corner of the report screen.
Export options may include: PDF, CSV, Excel, etc.
Available export options may vary based on your setup.
When to Use This Report
The Family Communications report can be especially helpful for:
reviewing follow-up by ministry group
tracking care activity for specific households
checking communication coverage for group members
preparing team follow-up meetings
exporting communication data for reporting
