Add Custom Guest Attendance Links to Your Mobile App

Adding a Custom Link to Your SteepleMate Mobile App

This article walks you through how to add a custom link to your SteepleMate mobile app. In the example below, we’ll add a link to the guest attendance screen so the attendance team can track new or returning guests directly from the app.

WarningPermissions Required: To access Mobile App Settings, you must have Media access or higher in SteepleMate.

Step 1: Copy the Page URL

  1. In your web browser, navigate to the page you want to link to in the mobile app (for example, the guest attendance tracking screen).

  2. At the very top of your browser, highlight and copy the full URL.

NotesEach URL is specific to your church organization, so be sure you copy it from your own SteepleMate account.

Step 2: Open Mobile App Settings

  1. In SteepleMate, use the left navigation menu. Go to Media.

  2. Select Mobile App Settings.

Step 3: Go to Features & Layout

  1. Inside Mobile App Settings, open the Features and Layout section.

  2. At the top of this section, click New Custom Link. This opens the form for creating your custom mobile app tile.

Step 4: Configure the Custom Link

Fill out the form fields:

  1. Label: Enter the text that will appear on the tile. Example: Guest Attendance Tracking.

  2. URL: Paste the URL you copied in Step 1.

  3. Description (optional): Add an internal note describing what this link is for. Example: Used by attendance team to track new and returning guests.

  4. Page: Choose the page in the mobile app where this custom link should appear. In this example, since it’s related to attendance tracking, you might place it under something like Administrator Events so the attendance team can easily find it.

  5. Order: Set the display order for this tile relative to other tiles on that page.

  6. Icon: Click Change next to the icon field. The icon you select will be visible on the tile in the mobile app. Choose either:

      1. An icon you have uploaded, or

      2. A stock image from the available library (there are many stock images to choose from).

Step 5: Save Your Changes

  1. Review your settings and click Save. Your custom link will now appear in the mobile app on the page you selected, using the order and icon you configured.
